Changsha Railway No.1 High School, founded in 1958 and managed by the Changsha Municipal Government since 2004, is a key provincial demonstration high school in Hunan.   • Inefficient manual calibration: Clock inspections and adjustments consumed over 2 hours per cycle.

  • Lack of unified time source: No centralized master clock to enforce strict synchronization under the Ministry of Education’s sub-0.5 second error standard for national exams.

Solution

A fully networked master-slave clock system was deployed, consisting of:

  • One GPS/BeiDou dual-mode time server (master clock): Provides a high-precision, redundant satellite time source with automatic switching between BeiDou and GPS signals.

  • Fifty-two high-brightness LED digital slave clocks: Installed across all exam rooms, synchronizing via NTP protocol for millisecond-level accuracy.

  • Dual power supply backup: Clocks powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet) and 220V mains power to ensure uninterrupted operation.
