Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC), a full-time public higher education institution, is jointly managed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), Tianjin Municipal Government, and the Ministry of Education. Founded originally as the Second Civil Aviation School under the Military Commission in 1951, it was renamed CAUC in 2006 with approval from the Ministry of Education.
