POE (Power Over Ethernet) refers to a technology that transmits both data signals and DC power to IP-based endpoints—such as IP telephones, wireless local area network access points (APs), and network cameras—over existing Cat.5 Ethernet cabling infrastructure without requiring any modifications. POE is also known as Power over LAN (POL) or Active Ethernet, and is sometimes simply referred to as Ethernet Power. This represents the latest standard specification for transmitting both data and electrical power over existing standard Ethernet transmission cables, whilst maintaining compatibility with existing Ethernet systems and users.
The Shutai series slave clocks can be modified to utilise POE power supply according to customer requirements. POE-powered synchronous clocks can be deployed within Ethernet networks that support POE power delivery.
