Overview

Changjun High School, a provincial-level model senior high school in Hunan Province, was founded in 1904 by Yan Zhongji, the then-prefect of Changsha. Project Background

As a key examination center in Hunan Province, Changjun High School conducts a large number of national and provincial examinations each year in addition to daily teaching activities.

However, the legacy clock system across classrooms and examination rooms suffered from time drift, inconsistent calibration, and manual maintenance, which posed risks to examination fairness and operational efficiency.

    Solution

    Shutai delivered a GPS/BeiDou dual-mode master–slave clock system, customized to meet the school’s examination standards.

    1. High-Accuracy Synchronization Network

    • The master clock receives time signals from GPS and BeiDou satellites, achieving nanosecond-level accuracy, and distributes standard time to all slave clocks via a fiber-optic network, enabling millisecond-level synchronization campus-wide.

    • Failover Mechanism: In case of satellite signal obstruction, the system automatically switches to an internal rubidium atomic clock or NTP network time source, ensuring continuous and reliable time output.

    2. Intelligent Management Platform

    • A centralized monitoring system provides real-time visibility into the status of all examination room clocks and triggers automatic alarms for anomalies such as signal loss or device faults.

    • Seamless integration with the school’s examination management system enables automated time calibration and exam session scheduling.

    3. Customized Hardware Deployment

    • Slave clocks feature high-definition LED displays (220 × 480 × 50 mm) with adaptive brightness to prevent glare and ensure optimal readability in different lighting conditions.

    • Installation locations were scientifically planned to avoid electromagnetic interference from routers and high-power equipment, guaranteeing stable signal transmission.
