Overview

With the advancement of information technology, the public security system has placed increasing demands on time synchronisation. The growing development of video surveillance, storage, and big data necessitates time synchronisation systems to support the construction of integrated command systems, networked spatio-temporal management frameworks, and real-time emergency response mechanisms.

System Solution

The Shutai Public Security Time Synchronisation System provides unified standard time information for command centre supervisors, field patrol personnel, departmental staff, and external equipment. It delivers a unified time signal to centralised equipment within other systems of this project. Shutei NTP servers track GPS/BeiDou satellite time sources, delivering precise, unified time information for internal public security video surveillance and other systems requiring time references. Shutei time display terminals provide synchronised time clocks for public spaces, interrogation rooms, and similar settings.

System Composition and Functions

The Shutai Public Security Time Synchronisation System primarily comprises primary and backup NTP time servers, network management equipment (maintenance terminals and management software), time display terminals, transmission channels, and power distribution units. Primary and backup servers are located in the central communications equipment room, with time display terminals installed in public areas, interrogation rooms, and similar settings.

The system primarily achieves the following functions:

1. Standard Time Acquisition

The primary and backup master clocks serve as foundational timing devices. They automatically receive external standard time signals to calibrate their own time accuracy while generating precise standard time signals. These signals are transmitted via communication channels to provide NTP time synchronisation for all systems and terminals.

2. Time Display

The primary and backup master clocks feature liquid crystal display units capable of directly displaying standard time in the format ‘Year:Month:Day:Hour:Minute:Second’. They also show information such as the number of visible satellites and timing status.

Time display terminals offer diverse presentation formats, including digital LED sub-clocks and temperature/humidity displays. These can show hours, minutes, seconds, date, and temperature/humidity readings.

3. Provision of Standard Time Signals to Other Systems

Primary and backup master clock units feature multiple time signal output interfaces supporting configurable network segments, delivering millisecond-accurate standard time signals to other systems.

4. System Monitoring Functionality

A clock system monitoring terminal installed in the control centre incorporates self-diagnostic capabilities, enabling general management, fault management, and security management.
