I. Overview
The motorway Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) system constitutes a complex wide-area network, wherein the temporal accuracy of operational terminals directly impacts diverse tolling operations. Presently, numerous tolling policies are contingent upon specific time points, such as free passage for light vehicles during major holidays, adjustments to toll rates, and fee reductions for green channel vehicles. Inaccurate system timing leads to erroneous tolling operations, potentially causing disputes and negative repercussions. Since all recorded tolling data reflects individual terminal timestamps, clock inconsistencies within the system result in logical discrepancies in toll records and compromised statistical accuracy. Consequently, implementing an advanced automated time synchronisation system presents significant practical necessity.
II. Solution
The Shutai ETC Toll Station Time Synchronisation Solution employs Shutai's TQ5000 series time servers. These servers acquire standard time via BeiDou/GPS satellites or upstream servers, then provide synchronisation services to computers, servers, and other devices within the toll station's local area network (LAN) via the NTP protocol. Featuring high-precision internal time-keeping capabilities, the server, when integrated into the toll station's LAN, delivers time synchronisation services to all station facilities.
